Dr. Doug graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. He worked in research at Pfizer Inc and the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease before moving to private practice in California. In January 2013 Dr. Doug and Dr. Laura became the new owners and veterinarians at Westside Animal Hospital. It has certainly been quite an experience watching the clinic grow over the past two years! Dr. Doug enjoys practicing general veterinary medicine and surgery, especially with a dedicated and caring team who are always looking to improve their clinical knowledge and skills. Along with Dr. Laura and two children, Dr. Doug shares his home with their dog Nopey and cat Isabella.
Brian was born and raised in Casper, WY. He has worked at Westside Animal Hospital for 21 years. In that time, Brian has worked with eight different veterinarians. He is currently a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA), and has his ARBA Judges License. Over the years Brian has been involved with many local organizations such as 4-H, FFA, Jr. Leaders, etc. Brian’s home is a small zoo of rabbits, fish, dogs, cats, horses, and if he had the space, he would have a lot more! We are so grateful to have Brian in our daily lives. His passion and knowledge of the veterinary profession is truly impressive, and his love for all our patients is evident.
Ashlee is a Casper native who joined Westside Animal Hospital in 2015 as our Customer Service Coordinator. She has a strong passion for all animals and has worked in the veterinary field prior to joining us. She is the founder of Wyoming Branded, which is an organization to promote and educate our local community about mustangs. Ashlee is also a Wyoming affiliate at US Wild Horse and Burro Association. She enjoys spending time with her mustangs Joker, Briggs and Titan, as well as her dogs Tonka, Bucky, and Mato and a handful of chickens. Ashlee never has a dull moment with her husband and 3 boys, as they all enjoy the outdoors of Wyoming, hunting, and horseback riding. We are so lucky to have Ashlee as part of our Westside family.
Marishka was born in California but has been a long-time Casper resident. She joined our Westside team in September 2015 as a kennel assistant and has worked her way up to veterinary assistant. Marishka is very passionate about animals and learning veterinary medicine. Her professional interests involve the more technical aspects of veterinary medicine, including placing intravenous catheters, dental cleanings, and lab work such as blood draws and in-house analysis. She also keeps our Facebook page current as a page administrator. Marishka's hobbies include spending time with her dog Bailey, cat Solo, and her horse Buddy, as well as traveling, hanging with friends, and horseback riding.
Paige joined Westside Animal Hospital in the summer of 2016 as a kennel assistant. Paige has a strong love for animals that was obvious immediately. Her duties with us are endless but include caring for all of our boarding animals, answering phones, checking out clients, and giving extra love and attention to any and all of our patients. We are so happy to have Paige with us every afternoon following school. It warms our hearts to have the Lane family as a daily presence in our lives still. In the fall of 2018 Paige with begin attending Casper College to work toward her degree in nursing.
Nick joined Westside Animal Hospital in 2009 as a kennel assistant. Since then he has worked part-time in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends while he attended Casper College classes. Nick has a unique relationship with animals, and an ability to make them immediately feel more at ease in his presence. Our regular boarders get excited when they see him, and he can often be found either outside playing with a dog or snuggling with one of the cats in hospital for the day. Nick's constant smile is welcoming to our clients who have know him for years. Nick is family not only to us, but to so many clients and their pets. Nick's pets include his two dogs Tulo and Sheridan and cat Littl'n.
